Director of Outplacement and Graduate Support

Description: The Director of Outplacement and Graduate Support is responsible for providing our upper primary students (4th/ 5th graders) and their families with educational information which will allow them to transition to middle school successfully. This administrator is also accountable for creating and maintaining an alumni network which supports our graduated scholars academically, socio-emotionally, spiritually, and offers excellence-oriented assistance throughout their middle and high school journey. The goal of this administrator is to ensure that our scholars continue their educational advancement and fulfill their potential after they leave BWS.

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:


  • Direct management oversight and guidance of all outplacement and graduate support related activities
    • Strategically plan with the senior admin team and Board of Trustees
  • Organize all SSAT testing preparation for upper primary scholars
  • Organize parent/family information sessions about the outplacement process; including the creation of the Middle School Placement Services for families:
    • Transportation to middle school open houses, entrance exams, and interviews
    • Personalized list of recommended middle schools for each 5th-grade scholar
    • One-on-one family financial aid and scholarship workshops
  • As well as the creation of a Middle School Placement Services for scholars:
    • Middle school shadow days and campus tours
    • Interview workshops for 5th graders
  • Organize tours and Open Houses for Admissions departments at schools that BWS scholars may be drawn to
  • Create a graduate support plan/schedule that regularly checks on BWS graduates (i.e. academic and social-emotional)

Cultivating networks

  • Frequently visit and communicate with middle/high school partners to ensure both a smooth middle/high school placement process as well as an opportunity to provide feedback for BWS staff to better prepare scholars to be successful in middle/high school
  • Identify schools graduating BWS scholars/families may be drawn to
  • Foster a scholar-centric culture
    • Ensure that every contact with current and alumni scholars is infused with BWS values and quality
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships within the community to promote BWS
  • Use current best practice technology to support outplacement and graduate support efforts of BWS
  • Support strategic planning and execution with senior admin

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in related field with a background in communication
  • Experience using standard office equipment and school technology
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
