Teaching and Learning at BWS

At the Bishop Walker School, we have created a learning environment in which every child is safe, nurtured and known. Our program stresses the development of the whole child. We are able to do so through small class sizes, a low student-to-teacher ratio and teacher designed curriculum. Our academic program aims to develop complex critical thinking skills while solidifying basic skills. We know that children’s learning is heightened from varied experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. At the Bishop Walker School, learning is active and hands-on. Through collaboration with their peers and teachers, students learn what it means to be an active and engaged member of a community.
