Admissions

Thank you for your interest in the Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys. The Bishop Walker School is a private Episcopal school which strives to ignite in boys a love for learning and a commitment to serve others. In an intellectually rich and socially engaging environment, we seek to alter the academic and social trajectory of boys living east of the Anacostia River. The Bishop Walker School is rooted in the tradition of Episcopal schools’ commitment to academic excellence and moral development, research on the intellectual and socio-emotional needs of boys and a progressive approach to teaching and learning.

During the 2018-2019 school year, we will serve students from grades Kindergarten - 5th grade. We seek students and their families who will be actively engaged in the life of the school and committed to upholding the school’s mission and academic and behavioral expectations. Consideration is given to applicants whose families are low-income and reside east of the Anacostia River, who come from families likely to participate in his education, and/or who have siblings at the Bishop Walker School.

Please contact Admissions Director Herb Scott at admissions@bishopwalkerschool.org if you would like to schedule an interview or if you have any questions.

Each year our school receives many worthy applications. Please note that during the admissions season it is not possible to take individual calls regarding applications. We appreciate your understanding.
