Jonathan Williams Hired as Assistant Principal
Dear BWS Village,

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Jonathan D. Williams as Assistant Principal for the Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys. Mr. Williams will also serve as the 5th Grade Homeroom and Humanities Teacher.

Having taught throughout Washington, D.C. and abroad, Mr. Williams brings almost of decade of classroom experience and expertise to Bishop Walker. As a humanities teacher, Mr. Williams teaches about equity and social justice by teaching students about identity, exposing them to current social issues affecting their community, and helping them engage with community partners.

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Williams maintains relationships with community organizations both national and abroad working on various social projects. One such project created by Mr. Williams is called “Black Men Who Care”. BMWC is a collection of African American men gathered together to effect change in the DC metropolitan area. They conduct monthly service events partnering with organizations such as SOME and DC Central Kitchen, as well as organize intramural sporting events for youth. The time spent developing and leading this group has further ignited his passion to engage youth in the community and provide them with an experience that will allow them to advocate for a better and more equitable future.

A proud alumnus of Morehouse College, Mr. Williams hails from Harlem, NY yet currently resides in Bowie, MD with his wife, Seshmi, and 1 year old daughter, Taylor.

Please join me in congratulating Mr. Williams on his new role and warmly welcoming him to our school village
